NOTE: this install is for version 1.20.4 – old versions here. With the conclusion of WHIMC will hold steady at this version from here on out.
1. Make sure you have Java 17 that works with Minecraft – we suggest Azul
If you have an Apple Silicon (m1, m2, m3, etc – macs 2020 or newer) Mac choose ARM for architecture, otherwise choose x86.

2. Download and install Prism

3. Configure permissions
When you first launch Prism you may need to give it permission. Your system preferences may look different depending on your OSX version but it should be something like this:
4. Login to your Minecraft account

5. Install the right instance:
Small QRF Instructor (teacher) instance (194mb):

QRF Instructor (teacher) instance (1.4gb):

QRF Participant instance (includes single player maps and new map plugin – 1.4gb):

Dome Theater instance (Celestial Bodies + configured shaders and mods – 2gb):

6. Launch the instance, you’re ready to play!
Look for the BLUE PLAY BUTTON – if it’s there it’s going just wait a second.
Common Problems
If it fails to launch most of the time it’s because Java isn’t associated correctly. Right-click on the instance and go to “edit instance” and go to the settings option and “auto-detect” Java to pick a version 17 (Azul seems to be the most reliable).
